Does the Holy Spirit Speak in the Bible?

If you know anything about the Bible you know that there is an entity called the Holy Spirit. Some refer to him as the Holy Ghost. He makes up the third person of the Godhead. While not getting too far into the Trinity and all that it encompasses the Holy Spirit speaks to believers in multiple ways

Does the Holy Spirit speak in the Bible? Yes, the Holy Spirit speaks in the Bible and through the Bible. While the Bible is written down by man it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. In special instances, the Holy Spirit speaks directly through a prophet or an apostle.

The Holy Spirit can be heard audibly. Although, in most cases, it will be a still small voice. It can be a revelation you get while reading God’s word. True believers can receive these revelations. While the Bible makes little to no sense to them that aren’t saved.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Acts 13:2

The Holy Spirit said that Barnabas and Saul should be separated for different work. They were sent to different areas to preach the gospel

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Acts 8:27-31

An unbeliever was reading the book of Isaiah and wasn’t grasping what the book was talking about. The Holy Spirit told Philip to climb up into his chariot and explain to him the book of the prophet.

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

Acts 21:11

The Holy Spirit warned Paul about going to Jerusalem. A prophet named Abagus received a word from the Holy Spirit and warned Paul that he would be treated poorly if he went to Jerusalem. However, Paul saw it fitting to suffer for the name of Jesus.
